Wool Pillow

Pillows are miraculous, given how they change our sleep for the better. But just to be sure of that, we've created our natural Wool Pillow. Filled with premium crimped wool from the lush, green pastures of New Zealand, it's a material that also goes by the name "nature's miracle fiber". Why? Because it's one of a kind, with its temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, fire-resisting, hypoallergenic properties.
The wool we use goes through a special crimping process - one that transforms pure New Zealand wool into something extraordinary. It gives the fibers extra loft and spring, resulting in up to 50% more volume (without any added weight), natural resilience (bounces back after pressure), and long-lasting comfort.
As the finishing touch, we use a GOTS-certified, zippered, organic cotton sateen fabric encasement. The sateen weave is smooth to the touch, breathable for cooling, and durable enough to protect the wool filling for years. The zipper makes it easy to remove and wash the cover, keeping your pillow clean.

Temperature Regulating
The wool pillow works with your body's natural temperature needs. When it's cold, the wool fibers trap air to keep you warm. When it's hot, they pull moisture away from your skin and let heat escape. So instead of waking up too hot or too cold, you just stay comfortable all night long, no matter what the season throws at you.
Healthy Rest
Wool is naturally hypoallergenic and resists dust mites, so it's gentle on sensitive skin and won't trigger allergies like synthetic materials can. It pulls moisture away from your body, which keeps the pillow from creating a breeding ground for allergens. In addition, you get steady support and pressure relief that creates a calming sleep environment, so your body can sleep the way it's supposed to - comfortably.
Non Itchy
The itchiness in wool comes from larger-diameter fibers (above 30 microns), which are rougher. Our pillows surpass this issue by using fine crimped New Zealand wool with smaller fiber diameters that create a soft, smooth feel without the prickly sensation. Additionally, none of our wool is ever carbonized or bleached, and sheep dipping is never practiced.
Sustainable
Wool has several sustainable attributes: it is rapidly renewable, biodegradable, and recyclable. Annual shearing benefits both the sheep and us humans. Shearing in the spring allows the sheep to begin growing their wool in time to have a full coat by winter. Spring shearing prepares the sheep to have at least 1 inch of wool on their coats in the summer. We also obtain our wool from those who practice cruelty-free shearing and wool processing.
Certified Organic
Cotton Casing
We use organic cotton sateen fabric for the outer cover. It's naturally lustrous and soft. Plus, it's certified organic. No harmful chemicals are involved at any stage of the process - planting, growing, harvesting, and processing are all handled in accordance with GOTS organic protocols. Utilizing farming methods that encourage healthy ecosystems, including eliminating the toxic pesticides and fertilizers common in conventional cotton farming, means a safer environment for farm workers, more productive and sustainable soil, reduced irrigation needs, and a healthier end product for you.
Scent of Lanolin
Wool has a mild natural scent which comes from lanolin, a natural oil that protects the sheep's wool and skin from the elements and the environment. Approximately 1% of the lanolin is intentionally left in the wool after the scouring and cleaning process. This ensures conditioning effects and increases the vitality of our wool. We find the majority of our customers either don't notice a scent or find the natural scent to be mild, pleasant, and benign. This scent should dissipate within a few days.
Quick & Easy Care
Caring for a wool pillow is one of the easiest things you'll ever do. Of course, to start, we always recommend a zippered pillow cover for an extra dose of protection. Once that's taken care of, all you have to do is wash it occasionally. The cover that comes with the pillow is also washable. And we recommend sunning the wool for 1-2 hours every few months. It can naturally deodorize, bleach, disinfect, and revitalize the filling.
